We all waste time in one way or another and just putting your brain in neutral every now and then is not a terrible thing. But if you spend too much time in non-productive activities you may want to think about recapturing some of that time. Maybe just one hour of it.
If you want to add an hour to your day, here are five activities to consider.
Five Ways to Add an Hour to Your Day
1. Limit the amount of time you spend on social media.
Don’t eliminate it all together (as if you could now that you’re hooked!) but track how much social media time you spend each day and decide if you should cut back on it.
2. Pare back endless web surfing.
It is so easy to check one thing on the web and loose three hours of your life. Be aware of it, so you don’t end up wasting too much time.
3. Stop playing computer games during the workday.
Solitaire is not building your business. Nor is Words with Friends.
4. Cut back on watching TV.
Convert those hours to reading or conversations. Or take up a new hobby like cooking or woodworking, that will provide something to show for your time.
5. Eliminate Rubbish Reading.
You don’t need to know which celeb got a new tattoo or is divorcing her fourth husband. If you’re going to read, read for value.
