Tomorrow is one of the most significant of all US holidays. We think of July 4th as the birthday of our nation. Besides celebrating with friends and family, you can actually capitalize on holidays like this to grow your business. Here are a few ways to do that:
Five Ways to Capitalize on a Holiday
1. Send Holiday Cards.
Print up some fun cards that celebrate the holiday by somehow tying into an element of your business or your logo. Include a short handwritten note inside. As an example, because all of my clients are women business owners, one year I created a Thanksgiving card with colorful bras on the front and on the inside I wrote “I’m thankful for all your support.” My clients LOVED it and still talk about it.
2. Offer a Special Holiday Package.
Think of products/services you might combine that would somehow tie in with the holiday. For July 4th, you might bundle four services into a special package. For Valentine’s Day, maybe you pull together several red products.
3. Enact Special Holiday Pricing.
You might offer special quantity pricing for those who buy 12 or 50 and call it the “12 Stripes Value Offering” or “50 Stars Pricing!” This pricing might only be valid for the week of the holiday.
4. Write a Holiday Blog or Newsletter.
If you don’t want to be tied to writing on a regular basis, you could create a special newsletter for your favorite holidays, or for the first day of Summer/Fall/Winter/Spring.
5. Record a Special Holiday Voicemail.
Consider creating fun voicemail messages that you run for a few days before and a few days after a specific holiday. Who says voicemails have to be boring or ordinary. Show your creative side!
